Training & Experience

  • Rooted Medicine Circle 2021 - This year long study in herbal remedy making deepened my experience of listening, taught me the true meaning of reciprocity and helped me remember the feeling of wholeness in making medicine and working with the plants.

  • Practicing Small Animal Veterinarian for 22 years - so many stories of falling in love with my patients, grief over loss, amazing recoveries and always deep, deep love between animals and their people.

  • Practice Founder Mt. Tabor Veterinary Care 2008 - (Practice Owner for 11 years) - Mt. Tabor Veterinary Care grew from a team of 3 people, including myself and two bright and eager women, to a team of 20 people when I sold the practice to two of my beloved veterinary associates. Every one of my staff members grew me into a better person through their direct requests as well as the responsibility I felt for their wellbeing and growth. They inspired and taught me how to be more me as well as how to be a more effective leader. The clients and patients that passed through our doors filled my heart and grew me as well, inspiring me to push myself to learn more and find better ways to serve them and my team.

  • Whole Person Coach Certified 2019 - A deep learning of how to hold space and follow the energy of unfolding. The vulnerability, sharing and experiential learning, kicked my self discovery up a new notch. I began to see where personal truth and wisdom was THE BEST guide and inviting the WHOLE person to the table was the fastest way to growth.

  • Let Animals Lead Reiki (Level 1 & 2) Certified 2018 - Working with energy and reframing to see animals as whole and capable started to shift my way of being. I started to recognize the power of letting animals lead.

  • Spirit School 2015 - The discovery of magic and possibility amplified my spiritual awakening and put me in touch with Spirit, my own guidance, and intuition in a way that has been my north star ever since.

  • Mind Body Spirit Dance Leadership 2012 - Taking my practice of leadership to a whole new level through the power of body movement. As with all of my learning as I study how to do something, I too am changed to meet that new level of understanding. For my final solo dance I stayed with the discomfort of the music starting and my mind wanting me to move. I waited what felt like an excruciatingly long time until slowly, I followed the movement of my left hand as it floated like a soap bubble above my head and suddenly in a crack of light, I smiled wide as my body opened in a matching moving smile of motion and expression. I was being danced.

  • Calling Received 2011- I lay on my back breathing hard. My eyes were closed and my hand lay loosely over my chest. I was buzzing. We had just finished a very active pulsing meditation and my body was humming with energy. A vision came to me:

I was laying at the feet of very large stone statue representing the Virgin Mary. She rotated her large stony head down to peer at me, raised her arms and a flash of light went off. She was taking my picture! And then I heard her voice: “You help animals heal their people”.

You can imagine my relief as a veterinarian that I could continue my work! It would take me 8 more years to leave traditional veterinary practice and enter into the more spiritual and person focused aspect of my calling.

  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine 1997 - Graduating from Veterinary School from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign I was FINALLY ready to begin!

  • First Job in Veterinary Medicine 1986 - I started work in veterinary medicine at the prompting of my parents who thought it was a good idea to get work in the field I’d been talking about for a decade and a half. I started as a kennel attendant cleaning cages, feeding animals and helping the doctor and technician when needed - I was in heaven! I would come home at night with tales of amazingly gross and wonderful things that my parents were less than happy to hear about at the dinner table.
